The District of Khouribga in the southern and inner part of Chaouia-Ourdigha has an estension of 4250 square km.
It’s a half dry zone; hydric resources aren’t suitably exploited and, as a consequence, agriculture is underdeveloped. The most important industrial activity is phosphate mining, managed by the OCP (8000 employees). Emigration to Atlantic and European cities is wide spread. 60% of all Moroccan immigrants in Piedmont come from cities and villages of the District.
